Qualandia checkpoint

This checkpoint has became a border. It’s remarkable is that here the Wall doesn't follow the border (the green line ) between Israel and Palestine but separates Palestinians from Palestinians. Does this mean that there is another reason for the Israeli to build this wall than to protect themselves ?

Dit checkpoint is een grens geworden. Opmerkelijk is dat de Muur en het checkpoint hier niet op de grens (de groene lijn) tussen Israëlisch en Palestijns gebied loopt, maar midden door Palestijns gebied en op die manier Palestijnen van Palestijnen scheidt. Is het dan toch niet om zichzelf te beschermen dat Israël de Muur bouwde?
